One of the most dangerous plumbing leaks are hidden leaks. Plumbing leaks behind walls, or under floors. These can be some of the hardest plumbing leaks to detect, which means they can also cause the most damage. Check for soggy or wet spots on floors and walls. You should also make yourself accustomed to the sound of running water. Any unexplained puddles on the floor or soggy patches of wall could indicate a leak.
